There is a story to the sketch above. As I was sketching the Notre Dame by the river, I got distracted by a little girl's blond, wavy hair, so I switched to do a quick sketch of them instead. Half way done, they realized that I was sketching them (oops, creeping failed) and came over to look at my sketches. So we began talking (mostly in French, woohoo;) ); they were Belgians visiting Paris. They looked over my sketchbook and seemed to like it :P At the end of our conversation, they gave me their number and invited me to Belgium for a visit. Oh the great things that sketching can bring people.

Anyway, yesterday marks my first week in Paris! And on my own that is! Figuring directions, finding a SIM card, getting groceries, nailing the Metro, ordering food etc. I must say I've been doing pretty well, except for the fact that I was almost an hour late to orientation on the first day.
Things are getting more and more exciting as studio will be starting this week some time .. My French listening skill is definitely getting better. Hopefully by the end of the semester I will be somewhat decent in French. Housing is still .. interesting. we moved to a new place by the same owner. So, til next time, Montmartre.
Now to friends: it's been going pretty well ha I'm not all too awkward when it comes to making new friends (I think). Most of my friends now are exchange kids from all over the world: Peru, Mexico, Italy, Brazil, Argentina and Singapore. I love meeting international people! They're so awesome and have so much to bring to the table. Seriously cannot wait for the school year to start so I can meet more amazing people.
More importantly, I need to figure out my time schedule so I can start planning out my travels :)
Still sketching, wandering around like a lost soul and still feeling blessed for this opportunity.
Bisous,
Anh
