PARIS, JE T'AIME.
There are no words I can use to describe the experience from the trip to Paris with the Honors program. Contemporary Paris has truly been one of the best trip overseas I have ever done thus far.
It is unbelievable how the Paris is already over; more unbelievable when I had my first step outside Charles De Gaule airport; and even more unbelievable that it was a dream come true. Paris has always been the first destination in my bucket list, for I absolutely love everything about this city, or France in general. I love the culture, the language, and the gorgeous architecture. Being there and observing famous monuments was the best experience in Paris, for I could see, and even touch, these monuments and feel overwhelmed by the greatness of the architecture.
I had a lot of fun photographing and documenting everything, from the monuments to people to the food. I was greedy, trying to capture as many moments of the city as possible. We all were trying to live the spirit of Paris. We were not just excited tourists in a rush to travel from one monument to another, but we were trying to enjoy the pace of Paris and its people. Less talking, just feeling and enjoying. Nevertheless, we were not passive tourists; we even went out at night (as a group of course) to explore the night life of the city.
Needless to say, it was an amazing trip, thanks to our professors Dr. Lorenz, Lowanne and Leah, and the amazing group of people in the course. During the trip, we created some really great bonds that have been lasting even after the trip. Perhaps, this is why Paris is called the city of love: there is love for the architecture, the food, and the people. This Honors experience has been truly amazing and so much better than I had even imagined. I have learned so much more about the history of Paris, both culturally and architecturally; I have one of the best opportunity to experience some of the world's greatest architectural monuments and buildings; I have gained myself knowledge abotu this very culture, providing the first step to explore more of the international world in the (near) future. I am so glad and grateful for this wonderful opportunity given by the Honors program!
